At this time of year, the shops have had their Christmas decorations up for what seems like months. The community Christmas tree has been sitting at the end of my street for a couple of weeks waiting for the lighting ceremony, mince pies and Christmas carols to begin. My children have been campaigning to go buy a tree for several weeks.
I am resisting.
A few decorations have started to creep in slowly. A few stars, a Christmas banner. Some dried foliage picked on a midnight dog walk up the local hill.
Give it another couple of weeks and the tree will go up.
